The Purpose, History, and Vision of Hair Care Day Campaign

Seoul, September 2025 – AesMed is proud to highlight the journey and vision of the Hair Care Day Campaign, a meaningful initiative dedicated to supporting patients suffering from alopecia and raising awareness of hair loss as a serious medical and social issue.

The Beginning: 2020
The Hair Care Day Campaign originated in 2020, when AesMed donated wigs to children with alopecia areata. This symbolic act laid the foundation for the first Hair Care Day Campaign on November 11, emphasizing the hope of renewal—just as one missing hair can eventually regrow into a healthy strand.

Purpose and Mission
The Hair Care Day Campaign was established to go beyond symbolism and create real impact:
• To show empathy and solidarity with hair loss patients.
• To share medical knowledge and treatment advances.
• To unite hospitals, professionals, companies, governments, and patient groups for the benefit of patients worldwide.
Each year, the campaign runs from October 11 to November 11, engaging clinics, specialists, and organizations across Korea and abroad through educational content, hospital events, and collaborative initiatives.

Growth into a Global Campaign
Since its inception, the Hair Care Day Campaign has expanded from Korea to an international platform, with participation from Japan, China, Türkiye, Malaysia, and Azerbaijan. Looking ahead, the campaign aims to reach even greater scale, with plans to be presented at the World Congress for Hair Research (WCHR) 2026 in Seoul.

Vision for the Future
The vision of the Hair Care Day Campaign is to create a global platform where medical expertise, patient voices, and industry innovation come together. The campaign seeks to inspire not only awareness but also action, ensuring that every effort—from research to patient support—contributes to improving lives.

As expressed by AesMed leadership:
“The Hair Care Day Campaign must remain a symbolic and patient-centered initiative, never commercial. It is about uniting scattered efforts into one meaningful cause, so that the alopecia community worldwide can come together on November 11 to share knowledge, empathy, and hope.”

► Campaign Period: October 11 – November 11 (annually)
